68th National Film Awards were announced today at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. The Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru grabbed the highest number of awards this year. A few other Telugu movies proved their worth at the awards ceremony in different categories. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Colour Photo and Natyam are the films that grabbed the National Awards this time. Among them, Natyam is the only Telugu movie to get two national awards in different categories.
Natyam is the best art film in Indian cinema in recent times. Natyam is a dance film with some romantic tracks in between. The film impressed the Telugu audience during its release and even received positive feedback from critics. The film is produced by Sandhya Raju, an Indian Kuchipudi dancer. Sandhya Raju acted in the film as the lead actress and even choreographed all the songs on her own. Her looks are also very good in the film. For the film’s extreme excellence in art form, especially in the categories of choreography and makeup, the Government of India awarded those particular categories with National Film Awards. Sandhya Raju was chosen as the best choreographer, and TV Rambabu was chosen as the best makeup artist. Natyam is currently available on the Amazon Prime Video OTT Platform. Apart from these, many other best films won national awards in their respective categories. Soorarai Pottru won five national awards. Ayyapanum Koshiyum gets 4 and Tanhaji gets 3 in different categories. Soorarai Pottru is the best national feature film. Sachy is the best director. Suriya is the best actor and Aparna Balamurali is the best actress.
