On-Screen Performances:
Sree Vishnu looks comfortable in playing the character of his boy next door zone. He does his job comfortably. The addition of Godavari slang suited him very well. Amritha Aiyer gave a decent performance. Mahesh was the highlight among the friends. Subbaraju could have a better scope in the film.
Off-Screen Highlights:
Teja Marni, after the success of his debut film Johaar chose the path of commercial film with Arjuna Phalguna. The story was well set in the backdrop of Godavari district. The life of youth and the characters of the friends were written and picturised well. The first half gives us enough laughs and a decent plot. The background score balances the emotions exposed on screen. The visuals show the beauty and nature of the Godavari district. Editing and Dialogues can be better.
Overview:
Arjuna Phalguna sets the audience perfectly until the pre-interval scenes with the introduction of the characters and the humour between them. The setup was perfectly made, but the inclusion of commercial writing affected the run of the film as it drove into the second half. The film can be a decent watch despite the expectations from the audience.
