“Gully Rowdy” Telugu Movie Review:
Story:
Gully Rowdy is set in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam, which is plagued with crooks and thugs. Neha Shetty’s father Rajendra Prasad being a police constable himself was forced to give up his land to some local rowdy. Sundeep Kishan hails from a family of rowdies and is destined to become a rowdy himself even though he does not like being one. Neha Shetty seeks his help to hatch a kidnap plan and get their land back. Sundeep Kishan inadvertently falls for her in the process. Things take a turn when Bobby Simha’s character enters the plot.
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan steals the show as Meesala Vasu with his energetic performance and comedic timing. Neha Shetty performs well with what she was given. Rajendra Prasad is at his best yet again with his comedy and also carries the emotional scenes exceptionally. Bobby Simha is an asset to the movie with his portrayal of Encounter specialist Ravi Naik. Director G. Nageswara Reddy does a good job and his efforts are translated well onto the screen.
Highlights:
Sundeep Kishan’s effortless transition from comedy to romance and to action is one of the highlights of the movie. His chemistry with Neha Shetty is breezy and seems natural. The comedy scenes between Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha and Sundeep Kishan are rib tickling. Music is one the biggest highlights of the film, especially Puttene Prema.
Verdict:
The first half of the movie is a breezy ride with a perfect mix of all the commercial elements like groovy songs, comedy, romance and action scenes. The interval brings in the emotional aspect of the movie and things take a turn when Bobby Simha comes into the picture. Gully Rowdy is the perfect commercial entertainer that should not be missed on the big screen. If a light hearted and hilarious entertainer is on your watch list, do not miss Gully Rowdy in your nearest theatres.
