After the pandemic lockdown, Indian cinema suffered heavy losses. However the Tollywood industry kick started with Krack, Uppena and many Telugu films which reaped huge profits. In the wake of rising Covid cases everywhere, there are new speculations spreading around the industry.
The rumour of shutting down theatres due to increase in Covid 19 cases is currently strolling around. However no official announcement was given by the authorities. Condemning the speculation on closure of theatres Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister Of Cinematography, released an official statement on Wednesday. He said “The pandemic lockdown affected cinema badly, the technicians, distributors and crew were the prime sufferers. We are condemning the rumour on closure of theatres, no theatres will be closed. Theatres will remain open and they run strictly adhering to the Covid 19 guidelines (sic.)”
With the strict guidelines and support from the government, theatres have taken necessary measures to prevent the contract of the virus.
