Hyderabad Floods: From Chiranjeevi To Mahesh Babu, Tollywood Celebs Donate To Telangana CM Relief Fund

The city of Nawabs, Hyderabad has been witnessing heavy spells of rainfall from last week.  The massive rainfall of two cents has breached the lakes, immersed several colonies and swept away vehicles.  These rains have so far killed 50 people and 1000 people lost their livelihoods.  The Telangana government, state police, the disaster response force and municipality workers are working round the clock in the relief operations.

Due to many lives being affected because of the rainfall, Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) announced a financial package of Rs 550 crore for the flood-hit people residing in the low-lying areas and assured Rs 10,000 as an immediate relief to each household hit by the floods.  Appreciating the CM’s efforts, several Telugu film fraternity actors, producers and directors have come forward to donate monetary funds and help out the people in need.  While actor Nagarjuna has started the initiative by donating 50Lakhs, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Jr. NTR followed his path by donating 50 Lakhs each.

Chiranjeevi, Prabhas and Mahesh Babu have announced to donate 1 crore to people affected by the floods.  Vijay Deverakonda and Ravi Teja donated 10 Lakhs, Anil Ravipudi and Harish Shankar donated 5 lakhs each.  Popular production house Haarika and Haasine, which is owned by director Trivikram Srinivas contributed 10 Lakhs to the Telangana CM Relief Fund.
