Keerthy Suresh starrer multi-lingual film Penguin is ready for its release on the Over The Top (OTT) platform Amazon Prime Video, making it the first mainstream Telugu movie to boast a direct OTT release. Although the COVID-19 pandemic forced the government to shut down movie theaters, this did not stop the makers behind Penguin, to adapt to the real time scenario. The dark mystery thriller Penguin managed to wow the audience with the trailer and also piqued the curiosity of movie buffs as well as critics.

Keerthy Suresh:
Needless to say, Keerthy Suresh herself should be a reason enough to give this movie a watch. Keerthy Suresh cemented her place as one of the best actresses available currently with her stellar performance as Savitri in Mahanati. However, if the trailer is any indication, Keerthy Suresh’s portrayal of a pregnant mother who is racing against time to find her first child, who goes missing, has left many intrigued.
Karthik Subbaraj:
Movie critics have been following the career of Karthik for quite some time. Ever since he made his debut as a director with critically acclaimed Pizza, he gave us some memorable movies like Jigarthanda (remade as Gaddalakonda Ganesh) and Petta. Karthik Subbaraj is producing Penguin, and we can be sure that his eye for great scripts will not let the audience down.
Santosh Narayan:
The music director for Penguin, Santosh Narayan and Karthik Subbaraj go way back to Pizza, Karthik’s debut and have worked together many times. Santosh gave us many amazing soundtracks from movies like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iruthi Suttru (remade as Guru in Telugu), Kabali and Vada Chennai. Santosh Narayan’s background score in the Penguin trailer was able to amp up the suspense quotient and was enough to make the audience curious.

Thriller Genre:
It will be the first time we would be seeing Keerthy Suresh in a dark thriller. Usually movies in the thriller genre are predictable and have one or two major plot twists. But director Eashvar Karthic promises Penguin would be an edge of the seat and nail biting entertainer with suspenseful twists every twenty minutes.
Stunning locations:
Penguin is shot in the beautiful scenic location of Ooty and the forests surrounding the hill station. The stunning natural beauty was brilliantly captured on screen and was evident in the trailer. It is not easy to miss the lush green hilltops, calm and serene lakes and the thick jungle in the trailer.
Penguin will be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 19th and will be available for streaming worldwide.
