Uppena is an upcoming telugu film which will star Panjaa Vaisshnav Tej as the lead actor. Vaisshnav Tej is the latest from the family of Megastar Chiranjeevi to make his debut in Tollywood. Ram Charan recently took to Twitter to welcome his cousin to the Teugu movie industry as well. Krithi Shetty is making her debut as a lead actress in a Telugu movie and earlier worked in the Kannada and Tamil film industries.
News about Uppena made waves when it was announced that Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi was announced as the antagonist. Vijay Sethupathi’s character is named Rayanam and two posters were released earlier this year. The latest update on Uppena is the first look of Vijay Sethupathi which was released today. Rayanam is seen sitting in a chair in a dhoti and shirt sporting an intense look.

Uppena will be the second Tollywood film Vijay Sethupathi will be acting in after Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The anticipated movie was initially scheduled to release on April 2nd, 2020 but now the filmmakers have postponed the release to May 7th. Uppena will not be the only movie to have postponed its release date as other movies which were supposed to be released in March and early April have also been postponed.
Uppena is directed by Buchi Babu Sana, who was director Sukumar’s assistant. The film is produced jointly by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. Devi Sri Prasad will score the music for Uppena.
