Legendary Mani Ratnam Launches Shoot Of Ponniyin Selvan

Mani Ratnam, Indian cinema’s legendary director, is now busy with his new project, Ponniyin Selvan.  The movie tells the story of Raja Raja, the 10th century Chola emperor, through the eyes of a young man.  Based on a landmark novel by the late Kalki Krishnamurthy, this movie will be shot by Mani Ratnam as a two part series, similar to S.S. Rajamouli’s Bahubali series.

The regular shoot of Ponniyin Selvan began on December 13th, 2019, in Thailand.

National Award winning actors Vikram and Keerthy Suresh form an important part of the cast.  Aadhi Pinisetty, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karthi also star in this project.

So, a truly epic movie from Mani Ratnam awaits us!
