Mr. Majnu, the much awaited movie of this season, hit theatres today. While Nagarjuna shot to fame through his movie Manmadhudu, Akhil Akkineni is likely to achieve the same fame through Mr. Majnu. While Nagarjuna gained immense female fan following over the years, Akhil Akkineni managed to gather a similar following in a short span of time.

It is evident why Akhil Akkineni is the female fans’ favourite in Mr. Majnu!

Story:

Mr. Majnu is shot in London and revolves around the male lead Vicky (Akhil Akkineni.) The words ‘commitment’ and ‘relationship’ have no meaning or worth to him. However, things change when Nikky (Niddhi Agerwal) enters his life. Initially, they both face their fair share of differences. However, he starts noticing little things about her and a gradual change starts taking place in him. In the meantime, they move away from each other. Though he tries to deny his feelings towards her, it takes some time for him to accept, he is indeed in love with Nikky. He has a hard time coming to terms with it and decides to go back to her and win her back. Will he be successful in his attempt to win Nikky back or not is the essence of Mr. Majnu.

Performances:

• Akhil Akkineni put up a great performance in Mr. Majnu. Right from his look, to his body language, the young talent took care of everything. His effort to be different is evident in the movie.
• Niddhi Agerwal did a commendable job in Mr. Majnu. Apart from playing the simple and uncomplicated girl, she managed to bring life to the character of Nikki.
• Priyadarshi and Vidyullekha Raman managed to trigger laughs at the right moment, without overdoing it.

Positives:

• The stunning cast chosen for Mr. Majnu is one of the biggest positives.
• Venky Atluri is the director of Mr. Majnu. He is known for making movies which are entertaining and fun to watch.
• Thaman’s music is an added advantage to Mr. Majnu.
• Mr. Majnu is made with high production values with most of the movie being shot in London and surrounding areas.
• The cinematography of Mr. Majnu was worked on really well and the credit for this goes to George C. Williams.

Negatives:

• There were scenes in the movie which were added simply to increase the length of the movie. The editing part of Mr. Majnu needed more work.
• The story goes on a well beaten track and the ending is predictable, which kind of kills the buzz of the audience.

Analysis:

For all those who love breezy entertainers and love stories, Mr. Majnu is the go to movie this weekend!
