Thagubothu Ramesh (Ramesh Ramilla)

Ramesh Ramilla, better known as Thagubothu Ramesh, (Born on November 25th, 1981 ) is an Indian Film Actor and Comedian who primarily works in Telugu Cinema who is well-known for the drunkard roles on screen.

Despite being a teetotaller in real life, he says it’s his father who had influenced him to mimic that role. Ramesh’s father was a labour in Singareni Collieries Company and used to come home drunk every day. As a kid, he used to observe his father closely and used to mimic him to pacify his mother and that’s how he imbibed it.

After passing out from Akkineni Film Institute, he was offered a role in Jagadam, followed by few movies including Mahatma, but none got him the due recognition until Ala Modalaindi happened which made him popular with drunkard characters, thus making him “Thagubothu Ramesh”. He is currently one of the leading comedians in Telugu Cinema. His most popular movies include Manam, Ala Modalaindi, Ishq, Venkatadri Express, Mahatma and Gunderjaari Gallanthainde.
