Ravi Teja

    Ravi Teja (born as Ravi Shankar Raju on 26th January 1968) is an Indian Actor who is well-known for his work in Telugu Cinema. After completing his graduation, Ravi Teja has moved to Chennai to pursue the career in films and have gone through many hardships before cracking into films. He has assisted the director Krishna Vamshi in few films and while working as an assistant director, he also appeared in few uncredited roles for movies Karthavyam, Chaitanya and Ninne Pelladatha.

    His association with Krishna Vamshi gave him a career break with an important role in Sindhooram, a story based to true lives of Naxalites. The film has won National Award for the Best Feature film in 1997 and helping Ravi Teja bag few offers in movies Seetha RamaRaju, Premaku Velayera, Kshemanga Velli Labhanga Randi, Samudram, Annayya and few more, before making debut as a solo hero with Srinu Vaitla’s debut flick Nee Kosam. Though, the movie wasn’t a commercial success, it fetched him the “Silver Nandi Award” for his performance.

    It was his combination with director Puri Jagannadh that changed fortunes forever and made him the leading hero. Puri-Ravi’s first combo Itlu Shravani Subramanyam was his first commercial hit, followed by Vamshi’s Avunu Vallu Iddaru Isthapaddaru and Idiot was a sensational hit, the second film in Puri-Ravi’s combination which is followed by Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi, another blockbuster in their combination. With back to back hits, Ravi Teja has emerged as the leading heroes in Tollywood and for his high energy levels on screen earned him the sobriquet “Mass Maharaj”. Ravi Teja was bestowed with “Nandi Awards” for his performance in Khadgam and Neninthe. The actors popular movies include Idiot, Mirapakay, Bhadra, Venky, Dubai Seenu, Kick, Power, and Vikramarkudu. Ravi Teja’s brothers Raghu and Bharat are also noted actors in Tollywood.
