Rao Gopal Rao

Rao Gopal Rao (14-01-1937 to 13-08-1994) is unarguably one of the finest actors in Telugu cinema. After playing stages shows, he made his on-screen debut with Bhakta Potana and also worked as n assistant director for few films. Despite appearing in many movies, his popularity began with Bapu’s Muthyala Muggu. In this movie, Rao Gopal Rao with his distinctive modulation and dialogue delivery has brought a freshness to villainism. In a career that spanned over 3 decades, Rao Gopal Rao has carried every role with a great panache. Few of the most famous movies include Muthyala Muggu, Bobbili Puli, Allari Alludu, Aa Okkati Adakku, Gang Leader and Khaidi. He was honored with “Kala Prapoorna” by Andhra University. Rao Gopal Rao was also a member for Rajya Sabha during 1986-1992 on behalf of Telugu Desam Party. His son Rao Ramesh is a popular character actor in Telugu Cinema.
