Ramya Krishna

Ramyakrishna (born on 15th September 1967) is an Indian film actress well-known for her works in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi Cinema. Ramya’s uncle Cho Ramaswamy was a famous comedian in Tamil Cinema. She made her movie debut with Malayalam movie Neram Pularumbol which had Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty in the lead roles. After playing minor roles, she rose to stardom with her cameo role in K Raghavendra Rao’s Alludugaru in which she played the mute girl. The film’s success changed her luck and offers kept pouring in and made her the top actress in short time.

Ramyakrishna has been paired opposite to all the top heroes of 90s in entire South Cinema. Apart from being a glamor heroine, her performance has received rave reviews for her roles as Goddess in movies like Ammoru and that of a jealous love in Rajinikanth’s Padayappa which was later dubbed into Telugu as Narasimha. She is married to popular Telugu director Krishna Vamshi. After a successful stint as the heroine, Ramyakrishna has started her second innings with supporting roles. Her recent release Baahubali -The Beginning in which she played the Queen has won many accolades and the movie went on to become the 3rd biggest hits in Indian Cinema making her closer to the International audience. In her 30 year career, she has featured in more than 200 films, the most famous being Hello Brother, Narasimha, Ammoru, Annamayya, Criminal, Baahubali and Allari Priyudu.
