Ramajogayya Sastry

    Ramajogayya Sastry is a popular lyricist who predominantly works in Telugu movie industry who has penned over 100 songs and has won Film fare Award for “Khaleja”, “Maa Music Award” for “Endukante….Premanta” and “SIIMA Award” for “Dookudu”. Ramajogayya Sastry was born for Suryaprakasa Rao and Saraswatamma in Arepalli Muppalla, Ipuru Mandal near Narasaraopet of Guntur district. His father was a Priest in a local temple and agriculturist and mother was a homemaker.

    Rama Jogayya Sastry was a software professional who later turned lyricist. He made debut as a lyricist with a Kannada movie and “Yuvasena” was his first Telugu movie. Rama Jogayya Sastry rose to stardom with “Om Namasthe” song from the the movie “Ready” and his multi-faceted talent was recognised in the form of Film fare award for “Sada Siva Sanyasi” song from “Khaleja’.

    Popular movies of Ramajogayya Sastry include “Dictator”, “Solo”, “Panjaa”, “Atharintiki Daredi”, “Srimanthudu” and “Nenu Sailaja”. He had cameo appearances in movies “King”, “Cheekati Rajyam” “Srimanthudu” and “Premam.”
