Padmanabham (born as Basavaraju Venkata Padmanabha Rao) was an Indian actor, producer and director. Being a theater artist, Padmanabham landed up in Chennai, with tons of hopes to making it into the films. Padmanabham began his tryst with the World of Cinema with “Maayalokam” in 1943.
His first commercial break came with “Shavukaru” and “Patalabhairavi” cemented his place as a top comedian in Telugu films. His popularity grew so immensely that he is one of the main characters of the film after Hero, Heroine, and the Villain.
The versatile genius has also directed 18 films and has introduced the singer SP Balasubramaniam to the movies with “Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna”. The legendary who is a veteran of over 400 films had lasted his breath on 20th February 2010 due to the heart attack.
