Mano (Nagur Babu)

Mano (born as Nagore Babu) is an Indian Playback singer, voice-over artist and dubbing artist who predominantly works in 16 languages of the Indian Cinema. Nagore Babu was born in a family of musicians, her mother Sheeda was a leding stage actress and his father Rasool was a famous musician. As a kid, he was highly influenced by the arts and has appeared in many stage shows, learnt Harmonium, Keyboard and Accordion. The versatile singer learnt Carnatic music from Nedanuni Krishnamurthy, a leading vocalist that time.

After acted in many stage shows, Nagore Babu acted in few movies as well. Before turning into a lead singer, Nagore Babu has sung over 2,000 songs as a track singer under MS Vishwanath and Chakravarthy. After getting recognition, he was offered as a singer in 1984 with Karpoora Deepam and soon he became the busy singer and was associated with the leading music director Ilayaraja who renamed him from Nagore Babu to Mano and his fortunes have changed once for all. Initially, his voice was often mistaken to SP Balasubramaniam’s voice as they would sound similar. The year 1994 brought him the all needed adulation and tumultuous applause for his “Mukkala Muqabla” song in Kadal movie which got dubbed in Telugu as Premikudu. Apart from being a great singer, Mano is a famous dubbing artist who dubs to almost every of Rajnikanth’s movie in Telugu. He also hosted many TV shows.
