Mada Venkateshwar Rao

Mada aka Mada Venkateshwar Rao is a noted Indian film actor who primarily featured in Telugu films. A former Electricity Board Employee, Mada got famous as a theatre personality and later turned full-time actor on big screen. Mada acted in more than 300 films but what distinguished him from the rest of the actor in Tollywood was the ease with which he played eunuch in several films. His impact was so huge that no one can emulate him that particular role.

The talented actor made his debut with ANR’s Andala Ramudu but rose to fame with Dasari Narayana Rao’s Chillarakottu Chettemma and his song “Soodu Pinnamma Paadu Pilladu” was a rage in the 70s making him the iconic figure for such roles. In career spanning 4 decades, Mada has appeared in many successful movies like Lambadolla Ramadasu, Gharana Alludu, Muthyala Muggu, Manavoori Pandavulu and Malle Poovu.
