Lisa Ray

Lisay Ray is the short name for LisaRaye McCoy-Misick. Lisa Ray is an Actress, Model, Philanthropist, TV Host and Social Activist of Polish and Indian Descent. Her Father was a Bengali Hindu and mother is a Polish.

Lisa Ray caught the public attention with her high-cut black swimsuit for “Bombay Dyeing” advertisement with Karan Kapoor and eventually offers started persuading her. Her next ad for the cover of “Glad Rags” where she wears a red Baywatch-Style swimsuit which created a huge sensation. The “Times of India” poll named her the “9th most beautiful woman of the millennium”. She even anchored few TV show “Star Biz” on Star Movies, with actor and model Kelly Dorji. Though was reluctant and eventually turned down the film offers, Lisa Ray made her acting debut as full-fledged heroine with Aftab Shivdasani’s Kasoor in 2001, followed by one and only Telugu film till date Takkari Donga with Mahesh Babu.

Lisa Ray’s work caught the wide attention with Deepa Mehta’s Oscar-nominated Water which based on the lives of Widows in India in the 1930s. At the event of “Toronto Film Festival”, Ray revealed that she has been diagnosed with incurable cancer “Multiple Myeloma”, but which was later cured by Stem Cell Transplantation. Lisa Ray is married to Jason Dehni on 20th October 2012. She is currently partnered with Canadian Health and Wellness brand “Greeniche”, a natural health care product.
