K Vishwanath

    K Vishwanath (born as Kashinathuni Vishwanath) is an eminent Indian Film Director who predominantly works in Telugu Cinema. The genius filmmaker and is honored with “Kalatapasvi” title along with honorary Doctorate. K Vishwanath is a class apart among the bevy of commercial directors.

    In an era cluttered with core commercial movies and heavily banked on Star heroes, K Vishwanath rewrote the rules of the celluloid and changed the face of the Telugu Cinema. He has the distinction of the directors who kept the perfect balance between what people wanted to watch and what he wanted to deliver. All his films are masterpieces which never ceases to amaze you and continue to draw laurels.

    Vishwanath was initially a Sound Engineer, who later turned the director on the advice of legendary actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao.

    His movies Shankarabharanam and Sagara Sangamama have been included in CNN-IBN’s 100 best Indian Films of all time. Though, it’s hard to pick, few of Vishwanath’s best works include Siri Siri Muvva, Swayamkrushi, Sagara Sangamam, Swathimuthyam, Sirivennela, Sutradharulu, and Swarnakamalam. Renowned actor Chandramohan and legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam are his cousins.
