K Raghavendra Rao

K Raghavendra Rao fondly called as “Darshakendrudu” is the most famous movie director who worked predominantly in Telugu and few Hindi films. Born to the veteran director KS Prakash Rao, Raghavendra Rao was always passionate towards movies since childhood. After completion of BA., he assisted his father and few directors before making his debut as a director with “Babu”. The movie’s success established him as the director who is all set to rule.

A director in the league of his own, Raghavendra Rao has redefined the commercial cinema and brought star status to the directors with many blockbusters. He is known as the star maker as the director has elevated the careers of many stars from Sridevi, Vijayashanti, Ramyakrishna to name a few. He has introduced Venkatesh, Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu to the Silver Screen.

Raghavendra Rao is best-known for presenting the heroines beautifully on screen and was a man with the midas touch. In a career spanning 40 years, Raghavendra Rao has directed over 100 films, his 100th film being Gangotri which happens to be Allu Arjun’s debut movie. The legendary director has been garnered with 7 Nandi, 3 Film fare South, SIIMA, BN Reddy Award and 2 CineMAA Awards.
