Jikki (Pillavalu Gajapathi Krishnaveni)

    Pillavalu Gajapathi Krishnaveni, popularly known as Jikki (3rd November 1935 – 16th August 2004) is an Indian female playback singers of Telugu cinema in it’s nascent stages.

    Jikki began her career as an actress and appeared in minor roles in the movies “Panthulamma” and “Mangalasutram” before turning a leading singer. Jikki with her mellifluous voice has cast a magic spell on the audiences and has sung some of the best melodious songs in various Indian languages. Her most famous Telugu movies include “Aditya 369” (Janavule song), “Murari” (Alanati Ramachadrudu) and “Ninne Pelladatha” (Ninne Pelladesthanantu).
