Hamsalekha (born as Govindaraju Gangaraju) is an Indian music composer and lyric writer predominantly working in Kannada Cinema. Hamsalekha is said to be the trendsetter in Kannada music and is fondly called as the “Naadha Brahma” (The Brahma of Music).

Hamsalekha had a great flair for writing since his early days and was offered the chance as lyricist for the movie “Triveni” (1973) and has to wait for several years to turn as a music director with “Rahuchandra” (1981). His association with Kannada Hero Ravichandran has been very successful with many super hits in their combination.

The most prolific music director of Kannada cinema and a National Award winner, Hamsalekha composed music for few Telugu films like “Premayudham”, “Muthyamantha Muddu”, “Shanti Kranthi” and “Sri Manjunatha”.
