Devi Sri Prasad

Devi Sri Prasad is an Indian music director, lyricist and singer who predominantly works in Telugu and Tamil films. He is the elder son of famous writer Satyamurthy, the younger son is Sagar who is a singer in South Cinema. Devi has always been fascinated by music since he was a kid and has won several prizes during his school events.

After working on few music albums, Devi Sri Prasad has made debut with MS Raju’s Devi in 1999. Two years later, Srinu Vaitla’s Anandam brought him the wider recognition that led to lap up the offer to compose music for Nagarjuna’s Manmadhudu and he hit the bull’s eye. The music was a big hit and his tunes were widely lauded as they were fresh and melodious. The dream had continued with back to back hits like Varsham, Arya, Shankar Dada MBBS, Mass, Bommarillu, Gabbar Singh, Attharintiki Daredi and Mirchi to name quite a few. Devi Sri Prasad completed 50 films as music composer with Dhamarukam. In his illustrious career, Devi Sri Prasad has won 5 Filmfare Awards and 4 CineMAA Awards. Devi Sri Prasad’s younger brother Sagar is a well-known singer in the South Cinema.
