Deva (Devanesan Chokkalingam)

Deva aka Devanesan Chokkalingam is a popular Indian music director and singer who predominantly works in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada Cinema. Deva and his brothers worked for Television and worked as an instrumentalist to the famous music directors like Ilayaraja for several years before marking his debut as a solo composer with “Manasukketha Maharasa” (1989).

After delivering some of the hit chartbusters, Deva’s popularity grew beyond boundaries with Rajnikanth’s sensational hit “Basha”. In a career spanning nearly 30 years, Deva has composed over 400 films and some of the famous movies include “Basha”, “Tholiprema”, “Aasa Aasa Aasa”, “Arunachalam”, “Rojapoolu” “Auto Driver”, and “Naaga”.
