Rama Naidu Daggubati

    Dr D Ramanaidu (06-06-1936 – 18-02-2015) was the most famous Indian film producer who won the place in Guinness Book of World Records for producing movies in all the Indian Languages. He has produced over 150 films under “Suresh Productions” Banner.

    Hailing from a wealthy farmers family Ramanaidu ran a rice mill and transport business for a while, he quit the business to pursue his dreams in films and co-produced an unsuccessful Anuragam (1963). Later that year, he established home banner “Suresh Productions”, produced and struck luck with NTR-starrer “Ramudu Bheemudu” which was a blockbuster hit.

    Ramanaidu has produced many super hits like Premnagar, Devatha, Bobbili Raja, Prema, Soggadu and Kaliyuga Pandavulu. Ramanaidu’s sons Venkatesh is a popular hero and Suresh is a well-known producer. His grandsons Naga Chaitanya and Rana are the next generation heroes in Tollywood. Ramanaidu was bestowed with the Honorary Doctorate apart from being bestowed with many awards such as”Dadasaheb Phalke”, “Raghupathi Venkaiah Award”, “Padma Bhushan” for his contribution to the Indian Cinema. He served as a Member of Parliament for Bapatla Constituency from 1999-2004 for Telugu Desam Party.
