Chakri

    Chakri (June 15, 1974 to 15 December 2014) was a popular music director of the new millennium in Tollywood. After doing few private music albums, Chakri got his first offer to score music for the feature film with Puri Jagannadh’s Bachi. Director Puri Jagannadh and Chakri shared a great bonhomie.Though the film hasn’t been successful, Puri Jagannadh trusted him and was reluctant to work with any other music director except Chakri. Their next film Itlu Shravani Subramanyam turned out to be a superhit and Chakri was flooded with offers. He has delivered many superhits in the subsequent years and composed music for 85 films. Chakri is a good singer apart from music composer and won the Film fare Award as “Best Male Singer” for Satyam Movie, also won Nandi Award for Best composer for Simha movie. In the later years, Chakri’s obesity has become a major case of the concern which led to many health ailments finally resulting his untimely death at the age of just 40 on 15th December 2014. Few of his popular films include Chakram, Shivamani, Desamuduru, Idiot, Devadadu, Satya and Simha.
