Brahmanandam

Brahmanandam (born as Brahmanandam Kanneganti) is an ace-comedian who predominantly works in Telugu Cinema. Brahmanandam was a Telugu Lecturer before foraying into films. He made his debut with an unnoticed movie “Satyagrahi”.

But, it was Jandhyala’s “Aha Naa Pellanta” in which he plays a loyal servant to selfish Kota Srinivasa Rao that set the foundation for his relentless career. His mannerisms as that stammers had made Brahmanandam, a household name that won him accolades and his era started. Brahmanandam’s confrontation scenes with Kota Srinivasa Rao and Gundu Hanumantha Rao had tickled the ribs of audiences.

Despite the comedians who started their career along with him have vanished, Brahmanandam is still going strong. He holds the Guinness record for most number of screen presences by a living actor and he has acted over 1000 films.

In the year 2009, the government has bestowed him with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award for his contribution to the Cinema. He has won the Filmfare best comedian for Manmadhudu. Brahmanandam’s most famous movie include Hello Brother, Dookudu, Ready, Vikramarkudu, Race Gurram and Pokiri.
