Boyapati Sreenu

Boyapati Srinu/Boyapati Sreenu is an Indian film maker whose works are well-known especially in Telugu Cinema. After completing his Master’s Srinu worked as a part-time reporter in “Eenadu” paper and then he along with his cousin Posani Krishna Murali joined the director Muthayala Subbiah as assistants and worked for movies Oka Chinna Maata, Gokulamlo Seetha, Annayya and Pavitra Prema.

Gaining experience as an assistant director, he prepared the script with Allu Arjun in mind and approached him, he liked the story but as he was busy with Arya, he introduced Srinu to Dil Raju and that’s how Bhadra (2005) happened with Ravi Teja in the lead role.

Despite, the movie’s success the director has to wait for nearly 2 years for his next movie. Venkatesh who was impressed with his work offered him to direct Tulasi (2007) which was made on 10 crore budget made shares of 25 crores. Even after delivering two back to back hits, Srinu has to wait for another 3 years to deliver one of the biggest blockbusters Simha (2010) with Balakrishna in the titular role. His next film Dhammu with NTR in the lead role was much hyped but didn’t match up the expectations and it’s the only flop in his career.

Srinu’s next outing Legend with Balakrishna and Jagapathi Babu in the negative role has turned out to be one of the major blockbusters of 2014. He is currently shooting Sarainodu with Allu Arjun as the hero.
