Baba Sehgal (Harjit Singh Sehgal)

Baba Sehgal aka Harjit Singh Sehgal is the Indian rap King who introduced rap to India. An Engineering graduate, Baba Sehgal started his career as a rap singer, and revolutionalised the Indi-pop during the mid-90s is still best remembered for his hits ‘Thanda Thanda Paani’ , ‘Aaja meri gaadi mein beth jaa’ and ‘Main bhi Madonna’ which were a huge rage during the 90s.

Baba Sehgal also hosted popular TV show “Superhit Muqabla” which was aired on DD-2 and has appeared in few movies like “Miss 420”, “Rudhramadevi”, “My Friend Ganesha” and “Achcham Enbandhu Madamaiyada”. After a successful stint in Indian Television and Cinema, Baba Sehgal moved to New York and after a 5 year sabbatical, Baba Sehgal returned to Indian in 2005 and he is one of the most-sought-after singers in the industry.

Apart from Bollywood movies, Baba Sehgal garnered huge fan following in the South especially in Telug films and has rendered some the biggest hit songs for movies “Rikshavodu”, “Jalsa”, “Mr Perfect”, “Arya 2”, “Adhurs”, “Adda” and “Gabbar Singh”.
