AVS (Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam)

AVS (Amanchi Venkata Subrahmanyam) was a Journalist by profession before turning an actor with Bapu’s Mr. Pellam. His typical dialogue delivery made him the most sought-after comedian with his very first film. He later featured in many super hit movies like Shubalagnam, King, Ghatotkachudu, Sisindri, Denikaina Ready and Indra. He has also directed few movies Super Heroes, Roommates, Kothimooka and Oori Nee Prema Bangaram Kanu.

AVS has acted in more than 500 films. He had health issues and had liver transplantation in 2008. He passed away on 8th November 2013 ailing to Kidney failure and liver trauma. AVS was the General Secretary of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) for 3 terms. He has won several Awards including Nandi Award.
