Ali is the most popular comedian in Telugu Cinema and has appeared in close to 1000 films. Ali hails from a poor family in Rajahmundry, his father was a Tailor and mother, a housewife. From his early childhood, Ali was fascinated by the movies and used to imitate the actors and entertain the villagers on the stage shows. On a fateful day, he came to know that director Bharatiraja was looking for fresh faces as child artists for his upcoming movie Seethakoka Chiluka.

    Ali landed in Chennai with tons of hopes to be the part of Colorful Cinema. His dreams got paid off and got selected as one of the kids in the movie. The movie’s magical wonder at the box-office turned a boon for Ali. He was flooded with offers and in no time, Ali has become a busy child artist. After doing several films as a child artist, there was lull period in his career when Ali was into his mid-teens and the offers were on the decline as he is neither a child nor a fully grown man. During this tough phase, Ali used to work as the domestic servant for livelihood. However, the lean patch had ended soon and the actor started getting offers.

    He was roped in a comic character for Rajasekhar’s home production Magadu, followed by PremaKhaidi. But, it was SV Krishna Reddy’s Rajendrudu Gajendrudu is said to be the turning point in Ali’s career. The “Chata” language uttered by Ali in the movie has made him the household name.

    The same director made him as the hero with the Socio-fantasy flick Yamaleela which was a blockbuster hit and Ali has become busy as a hero. After a brief stint as a hero, Ali is back with his comic roles as he firmly believes comedy is his forte and becoming a hero is just a bonus. Director Puri Jagannadh and Hero Pawan Kalyan are his best friends in the industry and Ali is regular in their movies. In his illustrious career spanning over 30 years, Ali has appeared in close to 1000 movies and was bestowed with honorary “Doctorate” in 2013.

    Few of Ali’s most famous movies include Pokiri, Hello Brother, Tholi Prema, Yamaleela, Yamadonga, Atharintiki Daredi, S/o Satyamurthy, Gabbar Singh, Solo, Super, and Idiot. Apart from movies, Ali also hosts popular TV shows ATM (Ali Tho Money) and Ali Talkies.
