Ahuti Prasad (Adusumalli Janardhan Vara Prasad)

    Ahuti Prasad (born as Adusumalli Janardhan Vara Prasad) to A Ranga Rao and Hymavathi couple in Mudinepally, Andhra Pradesh on 02-01-1958. Being driven by the strong fetish for movies, Ahuti Prasad has moved to Hyderabad after his graduation to pursue the career in films.

    He was offered the role of Nagarjuna’s friend in his debut film Vikram. But, it was Kodi Ramakrishna’s Ahuthi that brought him instant fame and recognition Ahuti has become his prefix to his name henceforth.

    Ahuti Prasad has won 2 Nandi Awards for best actor and villain and has acted in over 150 films in a career that spanned nearly 3 decades. Though acted in several movies, it was Krishna Vamshi’s Chandamama that brought him a completely new image and has come as a fresh breather for otherwise a monotonous career. His popular movies include Bendu Appa Rao RMP, Indra, Aadi, and Darling. Ahuti Prasad served as General Secretary for Movie Artists Association (MAA). He passed away due to Cancer on 4th January 2015.
