A Kodanda Ramireddy

A Kodanda Ramireddy is an Indian director who primarily worked in Telugu cinema. He was the leading director of his times who was influential in shaping the career of Chiranjeevi to megastar.

Both Chiranjeevi and Kodanda Ramireddy worked together in more than 20 films and most of them were blockbusters. With dreams of becoming an actor, Kodanda Ramireddy landed in Chennai but lost all hopes as no chances were on the offering as an actor. With the help of his friend P.Chandrasekhar Reddy who belongs to the same village helped Kodanda Ramireddy to join in the direction department under the tutelage of the veteran director V Madhusudhana Rao.

After working as assistant director to V Madhusudhana Rao and K Raghavendra Rao for several years, Kodanda Ramireddy turned as the director with “Sandhya”, a decent hit at BO. However, it was his combination with Chiranjeevi that has become the career-changing for both of them. Their combination had resulted in many blockbusters and “Khaidi” seems to be the biggest hit in their combination which changed the fortunes of Chiranjeevi once for all and has redefined the commercial cinema. A Kodanda Ramireddy’s son Vaibhav Reddy is also an actor who appears in Telugu and Tamil Cinema.
