Writer Padmabhushan Synopsis:
Writer Padmabhushan, Suhas’s second film as a lead actor and his first theatrical release, was released today in Telugu theatres to positive reviews from the Telugu audience. This is due to Suhas’s ability to draw attention and a promising trailer. The film was played in a few cities a day before, and the response was great. The same reaction and applause continued on the release day, and hopefully for many more days. Here is the detailed review of Suhas’s Writer Padmabhushan, written and directed by Shanmukha Prasanth.
Writer Padmabhushan Story:
Writer Padmabhushan (Suhas) writes a novel titled “Tholi Adugu” but fails to sell it. One day, he suddenly becomes popular with another book, which was not written by him but was published with his credits. How writer Padmabhushan finds the actual writer is the rest of the narrative of the film.
Appreciation For Writer Padmabhushan:
A general audience would definitely get well connected to one magical scene in the film, which is the final shot. Without revealing what it is and letting the audience feel that emotional pride in theaters, Telugu FilmNagar would like to thank director Shanmukha Prasanth for simply reminding all of us to know and choose the true inspiration of our lives. Dear Shanmukha Prasanth, you are a gem at creating that emotional impact in our hearts while walking out of theatres.
Writer Padmabhushan Review:
Writer Padmabhushan starts with a school episode where the students express their dreams to their teacher. Keep a hold of this in your mind, and let’s drive into the actual story, as per the director’s narrative.
Writer Padmabhushan is the story of Padmabhushan, an assistant librarian in the state library in the city of Vijayawada. Padmabhushan is a librarian by profession, but his ambition is to become one of Telugu’s most popular writers. Padmabhushan takes his first step towards the same by trying to sell his first book, “Tholi Adugu” but fails every time.
Director Shanmukha Prasanth built the character Padmabhushan on the same basis. During the first quarter of the film, he showed the emotions of Padmabhushan – his happiness in writing the book, his struggle to sell it, his anxiety over not being recognised, and finally his pain at failing. Actor Suhas has come out with a natural performance for these parts. It is totally appreciable from Suhas’s side that he is so adaptable to the character with ease and originality. Director Shanmukha set the entire story in Vijayawada and made excellent use of the city’s locations.
The love episode was also nicely written, with the chemistry between Suhas and Tina Shilparaj being the key. The comedy arose naturally from this love story, with the lead couple attempting to be secret lovers before their marriage. The lead pair going on a date and then to the cinema is all part of this. The theatre episode between the lead pair is undoubtedly one of the most hilarious scenes in recent times in any romantic drama or a family drama. But the real plot comes here with a twist and a connection.
Padmabhushan actually becomes a popular writer with his identity but not his talent, which becomes a serious issue for him and his marriage. This plot holds the audiences’ interest till the intermission block and even later into the second half until the truth is revealed.
The second half of the film begins with a genuine desire to know the answers to two questions: who and why. But soon the answer is revealed with a simple story. This part of the film is not very appreciable and actually leads to a lag of 15–20 minutes. The actual writer of Padmabhushan’s writings gets revealed here. Though the character is not much use, the actress Sri Gouri Priya will surely score points. After this episode, the writer Shanmukha actually reveals that this whole episode is just a diversion, which is not very impressive. Shanmukha could have gone for a better option here.
The rest of the film is a brilliant pre-climax that sets up a strong and hard-hitting climax. This is sheer brilliance from Shanmukha, both in writing and direction. One cannot resist lauding actress Rohini, Suhas’s mother in the film, more than any other actor. Actress Rohini just carried the entire final episode on her shoulders. It is all Rohini and Suhas’s show in the final parts. Shanmukha exactly delivered his initial idea of writing this film on paper, and the audience will surely love it on screen.
The first school episodes will be linked to the film’s final episodes, where the audience will be able to feel the unexpressed, unknown, and untold stories of a person who is, in fact, the most important person in all of our lives.
Final Words On Writer Padmabhushan:
Writer Padmabhushan is completely worthy of being on the list of the best family drama movies in Telugu in recent years. This is not because the film was set in a family environment, but because of the amount of recognition and respect it gave to the women in all of our homes, as well as the message it gave us to take home. Writer Padmabhushan is not just the story of some writer, but the untold story of every housewife.
