Waltair Veerayya Movie Review:
Waltair Veerayya Movie Story:
Waltair Veerayya (Chiranjeevi) is a kind of local don or leader for the people of Jalaripeta in Vizag. He commits himself to a policeman (Rajendra Prasad) on a mission to catch Solomon Caesar, the brother of Malaysian drug lord Michael Caesar (Prakash Raj). Soon after Waltair Veerayya kills Solomon, Michael comes into action, and the story leads to the bonding between Michael, Veerayya, and Vikram Sagar (Ravi Teja). How are these three characters connected? What happened between them in the past? All these elements unfold as the story moves.
On-Screen Performances:
CHIRANJEEVI as Waltair Veerayya is very entertaining, particularly to his mega fans and to the 90s generation audience. There are many moments in the film presenting the vintage megastar to the audience, right from the beginning when the star tag “Mega Star” appears on screen. Chiru entertains the audience with graceful dance moves, intense expressions in action scenes, and vintage comedy timing. Throughout the film, Chiranjeevi excels at speaking the local dialect of the fishermen of Vizag. Chiru’s looks and costumes are also very relatable to the character.
RAVI TEJA once again plays the cop role, in which he is the master. He looks super cool in the film alongside Chiranjeevi. The conversations between Ravi Teja and Chiranjeevi are the film’s second-half assets. Ravi Teja delivered his best with the native local Telangana dialect, just as Chiranjeevi did with the local Vizag slang.
BOBBY SIMHA and PRAKASH RAJ fit best as brothers. Bobby Simha is the perfect choice for the role of Solomon. He is good in all the drug and action episodes.
SHRUTI HAASAN is not just a glamour doll for this film. Instead, she gets a meaningful role that helps the plot of the film. Shruti Haasan’s part in the action episode with Chiranjeevi is highlighted.
CATHERINE TRESA as Ravi Teja’s wife, is decent in her small role.
Rajendra Prasad, Sathyaraj, and the Veerayya’s Gang are all good in their roles.
Off-Screen Highlights:
BOBBY KOLLI directed Waltair Veerayya just as a Chiranjeevi’s fan. Many moments from the film are a sample of this. Muta Mestri, Gang Leader, Jagadheka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Tagore, Gharana Mogudu, etc. Bobby took inspiration from Chiranjeevi’s best roles and films and recreated those classic moments in Waltair Veerayya. Besides presenting Chiru with his fandom, Bobby also chose a worthy script that balanced Chiranjeevi’s mass craze. The first half is filled with such mass moments. The balance is not affected when it shifts toward Ravi Teja in the second half. Bobby also infused sentiment in the second half and made sure that the entire Chiranjeevi-Ravi Teja episode got the best output.
MYTHRI MOVIE MAKERS did not hold back in providing the best production values for the film, and the payoff can be seen in the film’s grandeur.
DEVI SRI PRASAD has a very good history with Chiranjeevi’s films. Well, the rockstar once again repeats the magic. The audience, particularly the mega fans, are very happy with the songs Boss Party and Poonakalu Loading. Using the Veerayya title track as the background score is a great choice.
The choreographer, Sekhar, needs to be appreciated for composing the steps that sync with the grace of the boss, Chiranjeevi.
The visual effects, cinematography, and art work look good in the film.
Endnote:
Waltair Veerayya is a completely a mega stuffed film with many fan moments from Bobby Kolli for his favourite actor, Megastar Chiranjeevi. The film is a decent entertainer for this festival.
