SS Rajamouli is the master of storytelling in Indian cinema, as is known to us all. All his movies in different genres are the best examples of his masterwork. His last two movies, Baahubali and RRR, got international acclaim. SS Rajamouli received international recognition and acclaim solely for his native stories and his unique commercial storytelling style. Now he doesn’t want to shift to a western style of filmmaking so as to impress the international audience just because he got global attention. He still wants to stick to the basic process. The filmmaker himself spoke about this at the Toronto International Film Festival recently. Here is the story.
SS Rajamouli interacted with the media at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022 and shared his opinions on the global reception of his last movie, RRR. “I still want to stick to Indian stories and make them in my own style of filmmaking. The stories will be native and the narration will be original. I’m not interested in pleasing either the Western or any other audience in particular. Maybe I will think of making international movies in the future. Currently, I need to tune myself a lot constantly and learn many other things still since I am not a pioneer in filmmaking”.
SS Rajamouli is currently working on his next movie with Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu. The film will be an action adventure and is likely to start next year. The film is expected to be made on a huge scale of 500 crores. Further details about the cast and crew of the film are yet to be decided by SS Rajamouli.
