Krishnam Raju, the Rebel Star of Tollywood, is the biggest support system for his nephew, Prabhas, as known to us all. Krishnam Raju stood by Prabhas throughout his career and supported him at every rise and fall. Kishnam Raju felt very happy and proud when Prabhas crossed the boundaries of Telugu cinema with Baahubali and became a pan-Indian star. Prabhas also expressed on several occasions throughout his life that his uncle Krishnam Raju shaped his life from a rebel star to a Pan-Indian star. But all that bonding has got to come to an end, unfortunately very soon. Krishnam Raju left his nephew and this world yesterday in the early hours. Prabhas was left in shock and mourned the demise of his uncle. This is an unbearable loss. Not only Prabhas, but also Tollywood is definitely going to miss the legendary actor and rebel star, Krishnam Raju.
Let us recollect the memories of Krishnam Raju by discussing a few of his movies where he worked with Prabhas.
Billa (2009):
Billa was the first collaboration on screen between Prabhas and Krishnam Raju. Even though Prabhas made his debut in 2002, it took 7 years and 10 films for the duo of Prabhas and Krishnam Raju to act together in a movie. Billa was one of the most expensive films of the decade 2000–2010 and was made to international standards by the makers. For such a prestigious film, the makers decided to bring a legendary actor on board, and so Krishnam Raju acted in Billa. Krishnam Raju was seen in the role of ACP Krishnamurthy in the film where he worked as an Indian working in the Malaysian Police Department. The scenes between Prabhas and Krishnam Raju are very exciting for the Telugu audience, particularly the Rebel fans, and they celebrated the duo’s on-screen presence together in theatres. Prabhas was very happy then to be acting alongside his inspiration and acting icon.
Rebel (2012):
Rebel is the second movie in which Krishnam Raju and Prabhas have acted together. It is known to us all that Rebel is the title inspired by the star tag of both the actors, that is, Rebel Star. Krishnam Raju played the role of Bhupathi, Prabhas’s father in the film. Prabhas always used to admire Krishnam Raju as his very own father, despite treating him as an uncle. He got the opportunity to play such a role as Krishnam Raju’s son in Rebel. Krishnam Raju looks very stylish and royal in this film as a local village don. The director of the film, Raghava Lawrence, said on several occasions that Krishnam Raju worked a lot to fit into the role and gave his best.
Radhe Shyam (2022):
Radhe Shyam is the last film from Krishnam Raju. It seems like it was all written as destiny that both Krishnam Raju and Prabhas’s last film was Radhe Shyam, the film which deals with destiny. In the film, Krishnam Raju was seen as Paramahamsa, the Guru of Palmistry for Prabhas. Krishnam Raju perfectly suited the role. He was also very active in the pre-release event for the film. Prabhas spent a lot of time on the sets of Radhe Shyam with Krishnam Raju.
With the sudden demise of Krishnam Raju, Prabhas will miss all those memories. Even Tollywood will miss the legendary acting icon and great human being.
