Captain Telugu Movie Review:
Captain Vetri Selvan(Arya) leads a team of soldiers who are known for their undefeated missions. But he faces a huge challenge when some unknown enemy kills the other teams. Vetri Selvan, along with his team, goes on a mission into a restricted forest area to solve the mystery behind the unexpected deaths of the previous army teams, caused by an unbelievably dangerous creature.
Arya is the central attraction of the film. His performance is very appreciable and the audience could witness the hard work and honesty of Arya by surrendering himself to the character. Arya ticks every single box as the lead actor, both with his muscular appearance and extraordinary performance.
Aishwarya Lekshmi gets a very good role, and she leaves the audience in awe with her performance. Her chemistry with Arya is decent.
Simran‘s work as a scientist is solid and is a surprise package, as she always was.
Shakti Soundar Rajan, the director of the film, relied on the Hollywood range for Captain. The execution of this creature-related genre is exceptionally good. The basic plot of the story is solid and appealing to all kinds of audiences. Also, Shakti followed the fixed process and structure for the screenplay of Captain – introducing the protagonist, his world, and the main characters around him and then dealing with the conflict. The screenplay’s proceedings are so fast that the audience wouldn’t get a minute to divert from the film. The survival episodes were written so well that the audience kept rooting for the team throughout the film.
The presence of the creature is the main highlight of the film. It looked like Shakti, along with his team, had undergone a lot of research in the creation of the creature, down to every single detail. The VFX team needs a special mention here.
The action sequences in the film stand out as being another highlight. Captain can be undoubtedly categorised as a unique action movie with the conflict of man vs creature.
Imman’s background score fits the tone and atmosphere of the film.
Captain is a unique kind of experience with a very strong concept and genre. The appreciable efforts of Arya and Shakti add much weightage to the film. The brilliance in the departments of stunts, cinematography, and music makes the film technically strong. So, if you’re looking for some action this weekend, Captain could be your best choice.
