Godfather: Why Did Chiranjeevi Opt for Salman Khan Over Aamir Khan?

Godfather is Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film, being remade from the Malayalam original Lucifer, as known to us all. The makers of the film announced that the film will be out in theatres for Dussehra 2022. They also released the first look picture and video of the film, featuring Megastar Chiranjeevi. Since the Malayalam original was a blockbuster at the box office, the Telugu audiences expect that the remake will also be a huge hit here. Meanwhile, Megastar is busy promoting Aamir Khan’s movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, which is going to be released in August. Chiranjeevi is presenting the film as known to us all. During the promotional tour, Chiru is asked why he chose Salman Khan over Aamir Khan for a key role in Godfather. Chiranjeevi comes up with a smart answer.

Godfather has a very huge cast on board for it. Nayanthara, Salman Khan, Satya Dev and Puri Jagannadh are playing prominent roles in the film. It is known from a few film sources that Salman Khan is playing the role of Prithviraj Sukumaran from the original. Salman has already finished his part in the film’s shoot. Chiranjeevi is so glad that Salman played that role. But why did Chiru opt for only Salman and not Aamir Khan, though the Megastar is presenting and promoting Aamir’s film in Telugu? In a recent media interaction for Laal Singh Chaddha promotions, Chiru clarifies this. “The role in Godfather does not require acting with heart and mind. All it requires is physical looks. Salman has it and so I opted for him,” said Chiru in the interaction, replying to one of the reporters.

Godfather is directed by Mohan Raja. Under the banners of Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films, Ram Charan and RB Choudhary are producing the film together. Thaman S is composing the music for the film. Nirav Shah is the cinematographer, and Marthand K Venkatesh is the editor.
