Major is one of the most inspiring and impactful films in Indian cinema in recent times. The film is the best tribute ever to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the superhero of 26/11 Mumbai attacks of 2008. Kudos to Sesh for coming up with this idea. The entire team of Major had put in honest and genuine efforts to make this film and the result can be seen today across India. The film is getting blockbuster response from the audiences. The film unit of Major including the actors Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar and Sobhita, the director Sashi Kiran Tikka and the producers Mahesh Babu and Sharath joined together for a round table and discussed a few interesting things about the film and its success.
Round Table Highlights:
It’s not the way Major Sandeep died, it’s the way he lived that inspired Adivi Sesh and he decided to make a film on the superhero of India, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.
Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata backed the team of Major a lot and supported them at every moment throughout the journey of making the film.
Sobhita Dhulipala revealed that Anurag Kashyap and his film Raman Raghav inspired her to be an actress forever in her life. Sobhita acted in the film Raman Raghav.
Mahesh Babu said that he was a bit nervous in the beginning before he even watched the film, because making a biopic on Major Sandeep is like a responsibility. But after Mahesh saw the film for the first time ever, he was simply amazed with the output. Mahesh really loved the last 30 minutes of the film.
Adivi Sesh said that the entire story of Major and most of the dialogues, including the main driving point of the film, “What does it mean to be a soldier?” were all told to him by Major Sandeep’s parents.
Saiee Manjrekar dubbed in Telugu for herself for the character of Isha, Major Sandeep’s wife. Not only Saiee, every other lead and main character in the film dubbed in both Telugu and Hindi for themselves.
Sharath Chandra, one of the producers of the film, said that every actor and every technician in the film worked with honesty. Sobhita added to his statements that they are all bound by the love and respect they have for Major Sandeep.
Mahesh Babu reveals that working with SS Rajamouli is a long awaited dream for him and it is going to come true very shortly.
Mahesh praised Sharath and Sesh for coming up with an innovative idea of screening the film in the promotional campaign itself. He said that it showed the faith of the team in the film they made.
