Major is a biographical action film based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan who sacrificed his life in the 2008 Mumbai Attacks to save many people. Young actor Adivi Sesh played the titular role. This is the dream project of Sesh. He also penned the story and screenplay for the film. The film was announced to be released on 3rd June 2022. Superstar Mahesh Babu is one of the producers of the film. He launched the Telugu trailer of the film on 9th May at AMB Cinemas in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Mahesh spoke a few words about the film, its team, and how he is associated with the project, at the trailer launch event.

Mahesh Babu is so proud of the entire team of Major including the lead actor Adivi Sesh, director Sashi Kiran Tikka, and the producers Anurag and Sharath, for making such a wonderful film.
Mahesh Babu said that he watched the film on 8th May and he felt goosebumps all over his body and a lump in his throat. There are many sequences in the film which will make the audience feel the same.
Mahesh is thankful to the entire team for making him a part of such a wonderful journey over the last two years.
Mahesh said that all his films from the last 4 years are blockbusters, and Major will also be a blockbuster for him as a producer.
Mahesh loved the work of Sesh and Sashi in Goodachari. He loved the film very much. He is so confident that the duo will give the same output with Major too.
Mahesh revealed that he never felt he should have played Major Sandeep rather than Sesh. He said that Sesh was the perfect casting for the film as this story and the idea came from his heart. Mahesh enjoyed watching Sesh in the role of Major Sandeep.
Major is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. Sony Pictures Films India, A+S Movies, and GMB Entertainment jointly produced the film. Saiee Manjrekar is the lead actress. Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma played prominent roles. Sri Charan Pakala composed the music for the film. Major was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi and dubbed in Malayalam too. So the film will be released in all three languages on 3rd June.
