Acharya starring Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan is going to be released on 29th April 2022. The film unit is doing continuous promotions as the release date is getting closer. Ram Charan who played Siddha and Pooja Hegde who played Neelambari in the film recently spoke about the film in an interview. Sharing a few things about the film, the special pair hailed the director Koratala Siva for making Acharya so truly and in a realistic way.
Speaking about Koratala Siva, Ram Charan said, “Koratala Siva is a very organic and genuine writer we have in Tollywood. If we can see his previous films, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Bharat Ane Nenu, Siva delivers a very important and hard-hitting social message. But, we can’t say that Siva is not a commercial director as we have seen Mirchi from him too. When coming to Acharya, he brought two beautiful and soulful characters Acharya and Siddha on a single line with an organic storyline of protecting temples. But he balanced the star images of me and my father with the massy fillings throughout the film. The shot in which I and my father were compared to a Cheetah and a cub shows the commercial standards of Koratala Siva and how massy a director he can be if he wants to”.
Ram Charan also gave a few details about his character. “Siddha is a gurukul boy. He is the brightest student in the temple town named Dharmasthali. He had a very good knowledge of the Vedas and the Upanishads. He is very disciplined and calm at the same time. His primary responsibility is to protect the temple town. What happens when he faces the antagonist in the temple town? Does Siddha have another side of him? What is Siddha’s other side and how he faces the obstacles and conflicts to protect the temple town is the rest of my character,” said Ram Charan about his character Siddha in Acharya.
Pooja Hegde played the love interest of Siddha in the film. Her character’s name is Neelambari. Pooja felt very happy to share the screen with Ram Charan. Also, Pooja felt that she got her career’s best experience and moments while working with Megastar Chiranjeevi in a couple of scenes. Pooja is so thankful to Koratala Siva for offering her the role of Neelambari. “More than my character, I loved the story first. I genuinely accepted the film just to be a part of it in any role, after loving Siva’s narration of the story. If not for Neelambari, I might have accepted any other small role in the film, just to be a part of the film. Such a brilliant story was written by Koratala Siva,” said Pooja in the interview.
