It is undeniable that Prabhas’ Baahubali, directed by SS Rajamouli paved the way for pan-India films in the Indian film industry. The Rebel Star emerged as a national star with the Baahubali franchise. The Sahoo actor reiterated that he is grateful for giving a pushup to his career.
On the other hand, Baahubali’s success also encouraged other directors and producers to think big. Consequently, resulting in increase for pan-India blockbusters like Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa, Ram Charan and Jr NTR’s RRR and recently KGF Chapter 2 starring Yash.
When asked about the rivalry with the other pan Indian stars, who recently tasted enormous success and popularity in national and international level, Darling said, “Every business has competition. But if you take the other side of the coin, now we are able to see a lot of Indian films. In fact, it was always there. My grandfather saw Maine Pyaar Kiya and he loved Salman Khan…That means it was always there. Now, only the exposure is more. Eventually, we are going to make a lot of Indian films. Today, we are going to cross Indian cinema also. So, more than rivalry, I feel we are already late to make Indian films. Good that we have started now and it’s going well. Now we are going to make lots of Indian films together from the North and South.”
On the work front, Prabhas was last seen in the Radha Krishna Kumar directorial period fiction Radhe Shyam. Apart from Salaar, Darling is working on another pan Indian mythological movie Adipurush, based on the epic Ramayana.
