Ram Gopal Varma will always be in the news for some reason. He is the one who reacts to everything, especially those which are mostly related to films. He got busy in the last few days with the promotions of his latest film Maa Istam. Now, RGV gets back into the news with some sensational comments on SS Rajamouli and other Tollywood directors, as a reply to Salman Khan’s statements on Telugu films.
It is known to us all that Telugu Cinema is getting better in the recent past and producing some great films at international standards. It started from Baahubali, then continued by KGF, then by Pushpa, and now with RRR. Bollywood filmmakers and actors are falling in love with Telugu cinema. Recently, Salman Khan while talking about Telugu films, said that Tollywood had taken over Bollywood in the recent past with some quality films.
Responding to that, Ram Gopal Varma said that it is not Tollywood taking over Bollywood. It is only a couple of films among more than 200 films released every year in Telugu that are doing great at the Bollywood Box office. Speaking about SS Rajamouli, RGV said that it is only Rajamouli and a few others who are getting applause and craze in Bollywood. “If Rajamouli was born in Mumbai, he would have raised the pride of Bollywood by making Hindi films. So it is not the entire credit of Tollywood to take over Bollywood. The credit goes to either a particular film or an individual director,” said RGV. He also added that Tollywood directors have an edge of knowing the masses and injecting them into the films, which are loved by the entire nation. Whereas, the Bollywood directors who reside in South Mumbai and Juhu cannot get the mass audience’s pulse.
