Alia is the daughter of senior Bollywood filmmaker,Mahesh Bhatt, and actress Soni Razdan. She made her acting debut as a child with Hindi movie Sangharsh in 1999. Bhatt played her first heroine role in Karan Johar’s superhit teen drama Student of the Year in 2012. She established herself in the industry with several films like 2 States (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and many more.
Bonafide Acting Talent
Alia Bhatt won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress in 2014 for playing a kidnapped victim in Highway. She also bagged three Best Actress awards for her role in crime drama, Udta Punjab in 2016, spy thriller Raazi in 2018, and musical drama Gully Boy in 2019. She gained praise from critics for her titular role in her latest release, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
