Shreya Ghoshal, a well-known playback singer in Hindi and most of the Indian language films, turned 38 today. On her special day, let us take a look at her journey and a list of some of her popular songs by the leading playback singers of Indian cinema.
The singer started learning music when she was four years old and began formal classical music lessons at the age of six. Shreya Ghoshal won the television singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma when she was sixteen. She was discovered by ace Bollywood filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s mother. Ghoshal is married to Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya and the couple are blessed with their first child on May 22nd, 2021.

Shreya made her Bollywood singing debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Devdas in 2002, for which she won a National Film Award, a Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, and a Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.
Ghoshal received four National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards and ten Filmfare Awards South. She has recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian languages and permanently established her niche in the Indian film industry.
She sang more than 261 Film songs in Telugu. She made debut with the Sari Sari song from Ninu Choodaka Nenundalenu, composed by Maestro Ilaiyaraja. Ghoshal made a mark in Tollywood as a singer with songs like Chali chaliga Allindi (Mr. Perfect), Mandaara Mandaara (Bhaagamathie), Hey Nayak (Nayak) and songs of Balakrishna’s Sri Rama Rajyam.
