Story:
The city of Chennai is frightened by a few biker gangs. The crime rate increases in the city with the biker gangs involved in drug supply, chain snatchings, robberies and other crimes. Arjun Kumar IPS (Ajith) fights against them and tries to catch Wolfranaga (Karthikeya) the mastermind behind the biker gangs. Wolfranga gets caught by Arjun and later gets released somehow. How he takes revenge on Arjun and how Arjun puts an end to Wolfranga is the rest of the story.
On Screen Performances:
Ajith is always a perfect choice for a cop role and he fits the best into the role of Arjun in the film. His appearance and performance are both intense. His stylish look and swag attitude are regular as we see in all his films. The advantage for Valimai is Ajith’s skills with bikes and racing. The director made good use of those skills and Ajith is sensational and exceptional in all the action sequences. Karthikeya plays the criminal mastermind in the film. His looks, body and action are apt to the role. His face-off with Ajith is so interesting to watch. Huma Qureshi plays a cop role beside Ajith. She perfectly justifies the character even though she has a small role compared with the content.
Off Screen Highlights:
H Vinoth, well known for his crime and action sequences in his previous films did repeat the same with Valimai. The crime network is the core strength of Valimai and the director Vinoth executed once again in the film. The bike stunts and action sequences are a treat to watch. Also, the cat and mouse games between the cop and thief are well written. Yuvan’s music is the best addition to the film, keeping it at international standards. The camera work is no less than a Hollywood show. The visuals are exceptionally well. The stunts in the film need a special mention. The stunts are just world class and the entire credit goes to the stunt and action coordinators for raising the range of the film.
