Telugu movie stars Chiranjeevi, and a few other representatives from Tollywood met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on February 10, to discuss cinema ticket prices and other issues related to the Telugu film industry. Addressing the media after the meeting, Chiranjeevi said that the uncertain atmosphere over movie ticket prices in the Telugu film industry over the past few months has arrived at a happy ending.
Other than Mahesh Babu, Prabhas.. filmmakers SS Rajamouli and Koratala Siva, producer Niranjana Reddy, senior actor-filmmaker R Narayana Murthy, actors Posani Krishna Murali and Ali were also present at the meeting. It can be remembered that earlier on January 12th Chiranjeevi met CM Jagan amid the long lasting row between the Andhra Pradesh government and Tollywood over the flexible cinema ticket prices issue.
Soon after the recent meeting, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, SS Rajamouli, and others addressed the media. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister assured of taking suitable measures, stated the celebrities. They all had big thanks for AP CM and all have praises on Annayya Chiru as well for uniting and guiding them to the right path.
Baahubali Prabhas, said, “We must be thankful to Chiranjeevi sir, who brought us all together here today”. RRR director SS Rajamouli revealed that he is hopeful of finding a suitable solution for the movie ticket issue, and appreciated Chiru’s efforts. “Though Chiranjeevi garu doesn’t like to be called the head of the movie industry,he actually is like our elder brother (peddanna). It is clearly visible how he brought us in a line to let the talks happen. We are hoping for good results”. Mahesh Babu, and others had opined similarly, and is hopeful of AP Government releasing a GO to enable revising the movie ticket pricing which will be favourable to the film industry.
Movies like RRR, Acharya, Radhe Shyam, Bheemla Nayak, Sarkaru Vaari Paata and others, are in line for release. Ever since the Andhra Pradesh government released an order shrinking the ticket prices, the movie makers are at the threshold of heavy losses. In the scenario, the entire Tollywood fraternity is appreciating Acharya Chiranjeevi for making the discussions possible. It is positively hopeful that the motive behind the meeting would be successful and the issue of flexible cinema ticket pricing in Andhra Pradesh would be resolved very soon.
