Lata Mangeshkar passed away on 6th February, 2022 in Mumbai. The veteran singer spent her last moments in Breach Candy Hospital. She left this world at 8:12 am on Sunday.
Lata Mangeshkar was admitted in the hospital in the month of January after being affected by COVID. From then she was being treated there. But unfortunately, the Nightingale of India left us all and passed away on Sunday.
Lata Mangeshkar was popular not only in India but also across South Asia for her songs. Even many foreigners hum her melodies in different parts of the world. Such an impact she created with her vocals across the world. Lata Mangeshkar was born in 1929 in Indore to a Konkani theater musician Deenanath Mangeshkar and his wife Shevanti. Lata was interested in music right from her childhood. It was the composer Anil Biswas who introduced Lata Mangeshkar to the legendary star actor Dilip Kumar to sing in his films. Thus Lata made use of the opportunity and from then, there was no turning back for Lata. She sang more than 30,000 songs in different languages and gave us many memorable experiences. She created magic with her vocals and we all have them stored in our memories forever.

Many people from the film industry of all languages paid their tributes to the legendary singer. PM Narendra Modi too attended the funeral to take the last glimpse of the singer. Lata Mangeshkar’s death is a huge loss for every music lover not only in India but across the world.
