Inspired by the true events of 2008 Mumbai attacks, Adivi Sesh made a film. The film was titled as Major. The film was based on the heroics of martyr Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan in the attacks of 26/11.
The film Major was written by Adivi Sesh and directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka. Abburi Ravi penned the dialogues for the film. The film was produced by Mahesh Babu under the banner of GMB Entertainment. Anurag Reddy and Sarath Chandra were also the part of production under the banner of A+S Productions. Sony Pictures is presenting the film. The film was simultaneously shot in both Telugu and Hindi. The makers of the film also dubbed the film in Malayalam.
With the content of the film having a national appeal, the makers of the film decided to release the film across India as a Pan-Indian film. The film was actually planned to be released on 11th February, 2022. But with the COVID cases getting multiplied day by day and also with the lack of fully occupied theatres, the makers of the film decided to postpone the release of the film. They also gave an update that the film would be released across India in many languages once the current situation gets controlled.
